1. Running stock Android 4.2.2 (Build JDQ39)
2. Installed Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.3
3. Followed steps in the app.

Steps:
1. Downloaded cm-10.1-20130216-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip and copied to internal SD. Verified MD5 checksum (e6160d0492a642221e64d7f98f726fdf).

2. Reboot into CWM Recovery.

3. Created backup.

4. Flashed cm-10.1-20130216-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip

5. wipe cache partition.

6. advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache.
7. Reboot.

Nexus 7: OTA Upgrade to 4.2.2

12th Feb - News of Android 4.2.2 first surfaced (here). Checked for an OTA update but nothing came up. Googled up this website (How to Get the Nexus 7 Android 4.2.2 Update Right Now), but didn't work for me.

13th Feb - Flashable zips of Android 4.2.2 for Nexus 7 appeared (here). Click here to read the changelog. Battery life supposedly improved after the upgrade (here). From 8 hours to 10 hours? I barely squeezed 6 hours of screen time out of mine.

14th Feb - Still no OTA update.

15th Feb - Nexus Factory Images for Android 4.2.2 Now Available (here). But still no OTA update!

16th Feb - Finally!

1. Downloaded cm-10.1-20130208-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip and copied to internal SD. Verified MD5 checksum (be4e6ee87d0247f45c12509f8dc3ebb9).

2. Reboot into CWM Recovery.

3. Created backup.

4. Flashed cm-10.1-20130208-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip

5. wipe cache partition.

6. advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache.
7. Reboot.

5. wipe cache partition.

Nexus 7: My 1st Nexus

After months of deliberation, I finally got my Nexus 7 (32GB WIFI) from Telur Baharu .a.k.a. NewEgg (www.facebook.com/neweggmalaysia). I opted for COD at their office in Empire SOHO (Empire Gallery, Subang). It set me back RM816, but still more worth it than getting the 16GB WIFI version for RM899 at local retailers. NewEgg also has this 30-day 1-to-1 exchange (or full refund) for faulty units. After 30 days, warranty claim will need to go through NewEgg and buyer has to cover the shipping cost back to the US (approx rm50). Installed the app "Screen Test" and all seems fine.

The default Android version was 4.1.1, and I'd updated to 4.1.2 and 4.2.1 sequentially over-the-air.
