2. Reboot into Recovery and created backup.
3. Select "choose zip from internal sdcard"
4. Flashed cm-9-20121209-NIGHTLY-galaxys2.zip
5. wipe cache partition.
6. advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache.
7. Reboot.

SGS2 + CM9: Apex Launcher

Decided to give Apex Launcher a try, after months of sticking Trebuchet (default in CM9). Liking it so far. It's smooth, and offers plenty of neat features, such as "Lock desktop". I sometimes move stuff around unintentionally. Still yet to explore it fully. Also, this voting poll here helped me in choosing between Apex and Nova :P

2. Reboot into Recovery and created backup.
3. Flashed cm-9-20121028-NIGHTLY-galaxys2.zip
4. wipe cache partition.

6. Reboot.

SGS2 + CM9: HSPA+ Support

This feature was introduced in the 20120903 nightly (cm-9-20120903-NIGHTLY-galaxys2.zip). Since flashing 9.1.0, I'd only upgraded to 20120930. Now I know what "SystemUI: HSPA+ Support (android_frameworks_base)" means..

Notice the H+ beside the signal bar, still white in colour.

Now it's cyan.

SGS2 + CM9: 9.1.0 Release Stability

Been running 9.1.0 since the 29th last month, and never required any reboot whatsoever until today. This morning I was trying to get online, but was unable to. Rebooting solved the issue. Perhaps I should have tried turning airplane mode on and off first...

473 hours uptime (that's almost 20 days!)

Seems like no issue connecting to mobile data

All seems good, but unable to browse/whatsapp. Note that the signal icon did not turn to cyan colour.

Restarted; connectivity back to normal, but where the heck is my Data Usage icon?

SGS2 + CM9: Flash 9.1.0 Release

CM 9.0.0 stable release was in fact, stable. One small issue though, was that it was unable to detect media files under /sdcard/Notifications or /sdcard/Ringtones (requires a reboot in order for it to be selected as a ringtone/notification tone). Edit: CM 9.1.0 release fixed this.

1. Too lazy to create a nandroid backup this time. My last backup was made from CWM Recovery. No more using ROM Manager!
2. Reboot into CWM Recovery. Note: Already copied cm-9.1.0-galaxys2.zip to internal SD card earlier, and verified MD5 hash too (963f5d56b376dedcaaa55dc3fe967561).
3. install zip from sdcard > choose zip from internal sdcard > cm-9.1.0-galaxys2.zip > Yes.
4. wipe cache partition.
5. advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6. reboot system now.

SGS2 + CM9: Issue - Unable to detect/play mp3

Bloody 'ell! All of a sudden I heard a "beep" sound from my phone. "That wasn't the notification/ring tone I had set". Then under Settings > Sound, both "Phone ringtone" and "Default notification" showed "Unknown ringtone".

This was after I went in to change the "Default notification", and nothing was checked so I chose "CyanPing".

Checked in WhatsApp > Settings > Notifications > Notification tone, and same thing too

Nothing shown in Apollo. I had a couple of mp3s in /sdcard

Then I checked Google Play Store for any apps to be updated. Although I can't be 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that ROM Manager's update 5.0.1.2 was the cause (updated earlier in the day). The description for 5.0.1.4 seemed to make sense to me.

5.0.1.4 Fix bug that places .nomedia file in the wrong directory if directories are missing.
5.0.1.2 Add Restore ROM Manager feature.

Updated ROM Manager but problem still persists. Rebooted and everything was back to normal again.
